For language teachers
Dutch homework built around everyday situations.
Making an appointment, shopping or asking a question at work: familiar situations give Dutch as a second language practice a clear purpose. Exersa helps you create homework around the language your learners use in class.
Try the demoChoose one situation and one communication goal
Keep the topic small enough for focused practice. Instead of everything about health, practise dates and times when arranging an appointment. Choose Dutch as the target language and select your learners’ level.
For A1, use short, concrete sentences and familiar vocabulary. At A2, extend the same situation with a reason or a follow-up question. Review the final task against your group’s existing knowledge and reading skills.
Support understanding with images, audio and explanations
A relevant image can make the situation easier to recognise. Pronunciation audio lets learners hear a written sentence. Choose media that support the task and check that the picture and sentence describe the same situation.
Adapt explanations to the learner. Exersa supports an explanation language alongside the target language, so you can choose suitable support. Increase or reduce it deliberately: a translation alone does not show whether someone can use a sentence independently.
Connect homework to the next lesson
Share reviewed homework through the learner’s personal link. Then look at the answers and discuss recurring difficulties, such as word order or the difference between a question and a statement.
Use the practice sentences in a short conversation afterwards. These exercises support your Dutch lessons; they are not official exam preparation or a guarantee of reaching a particular level.
How to get started
- Choose an everyday situation and your learners’ level.
